Nostalgia punch

Well alright lets kick of the first thrift of 2015 woohoo! Starting with Jaw Unleashed on PC for a reasonable £1 in a Dove house this had money in it on PS2 a few years back the PC version I have never seen before so should drum up some bids.

At market I cut a dead with this guy for a Super game boy adaptor Diddy kong Racing on N64 ad jungle strike and Kick off for SNES, £10 for the lot.
Not a bad deal works out £2.50 a piece.
Great stuff finding a Super game boy, Last time I found one of these I sold it with a few games, I didn't have a Snes back then so it seemed like the logical thing to do, Now I have a SNES I don't have any original gameboy games to play on the thing doh!
Still kicking it at the carboot sale and I find a Joytech Rumble pack for Sega Dreamcast for £1 The same make as the last one I found at carboot, This time in cool blue the last one was grey, 2 more and that's all my Dreamcast pads kitted out.
Columns for Sega Game gear for £1, Game Gear games never really turn up on there own its always with a system, Only asking £1 for this and that is what its worth more or less so I rescue it.

And The last thing from carboot I found was Mario Kart Super Circuit for GBA, Woah I forgot what finding decent GBA games was like, £3 for this and its a fair cop, Most people get totally carried away when pricing anything with Mario on it, £3 is a fair price.
Having a few mojitos with a few friends the other night, Ended up where that Tekken 5 cabinet is in piper club, We all had a fair go on it and its surprising no one doesn't have a throwback arcade in hull, Or at least a few more arcade machines in places like this.

Anyways, Well drunk by this point I head to my mates gaff for some Drunk PES action, I swear this game, I am positive that being drunk makes you better at it, Doing alright with Yorkshire orange, PES 2015 get the thumbs up as well good version.
I was starting to wonder where all the copy's of Final Fantasy X had got to, The first copy of FFX of 2015 everybody and on the first thrift since last year, If your wondering £19.99 2 for £30 is an old sticker, I paid £1.

Assassins Creed 2 and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood for £1.99 each, CEX sells both these games for £3.50, Their is no resale in them just a bargain at retail, So saving some money and Adding a couple of 360 games to the collection and giving to Charity all in one.
So not having any gameboy games to try out the Super Gameboy Adaptor there was one place I need to go and that was SPARKS (Small retro/phone shop that does reasonable prices and will haggle) I pick 10 games, On the tags it came out at £34, I went in at £20, Thinking £2 a games not bad, after a bit of back and forth, Settled on £25. Sweet now I have a bunch of Games to try out on the SNES
When picking the games I had my eye out for this logo "Super Game boy game pak" This lets you know that its enhanced for the adaptor, They have to be Original (Light grey) or Duel for Colour and Original (dark grey) see through (game boy Colour) don not work.

On the left is what that Star trek game looks like on a GBAsp, Only adding the palette colours that a gameboy colour would  add, With this game being made before the Gameboy Colour was released.

And above is what it looks like on the Super game boy on my TV, Pretty awesome, Dont get me wrong most Duel and original games will look Miles better on a Gameboy Colour or GBA, But the fact that its on your TV and you can Use the SNES controller Makes the whole Experience immensely Cool, Beats having a emulator Stretch out the screen.

Some games have more then just added Colour to the mix, Wario Land 2 uses its own boarder round the screen the reason the board is there is because the gameboy's output is smaller then the SNES so its masks this with the boarder.
Its is so much more preferable to use the SNES controller then the SP, All the game boys are great consoles to use but dont come close to how ergonomic the snes pad is, Playing some Bubble bobble part 2, That I just found out is £15 rare, Sweet.
Even the dodgy knock off 24 in 1 one cart works on this, There is a few games on this I remember from having my first Game boy Pocket that had a Similar Fake cart with it Flappy world especially wasn't expecting a nostalgia punch out of the TV.
So I suppose the only thing better for playing Gameboy Stuff is the Game boy player for the Game Cube, There is a very good a argument for The Super game boy being a better choice, That is Good luck finding a game boy player with the boot disc still present, Ok I am off to play some Gameboy games, Until next time Thrift it up!
