The battle's fought and the game is won.

A New year is upon us I plan to go on a big thrift live tomorrow so just a recap of what I picked up in Xmas limbo and January.

£1 each for wave race and monkey ball in a charity shop, Wave race is a bit of a lemon, When I checked its only worth 70p, Then I brought it all back with super monkey ball with £3 trade or cash nice.

Republic commando and star wars battlefront on a buy one get one free at block buster.
Its getting harder and harder to find something worth getting for free, It looked like there was nothing in there but someone had stashed them behind the PS2 games along with kingdom under fire and episode 3 both OK games and all work on 360 so its a fair cop.

A few predictions for 2013

PS2 fades out

Sony has finally stop manufacturing PS2's the last new consoles to be shipped from japan and that's it no more new PS2. This in mind I think more shops will try to faze out PS2 games all together, this started with GAME and will probably see other shops follow this year. Plus the price on PS2 games in CEX is at an all time low.

Total thrift shift

Its about the time when more newer stuff turns up in the wild, It becoming more likely to see PS3 and 360 games then ps2 and xbox, Not so long back playstation 1 titles where the most common item on the shelf, So I think now is about the time we will see a thrift shift on what items can be found.

Increased competition

I kinda shoot myself in the foot with this one because I write about what I do and tell people where its at, Why the hell not I like letting people know where they can get a deal, Plus It makes things more interesting out and about when you notice that other guy about 2 minutes behind you, rocking two straps on his bag and looking at you like shit because your in the way of the games,  feels like they should be some sort of ritual when to Thrifters meet, Try to top trumps each other with the games in our bags then have some sort of highlander based "they can be only one" type fight. I would say 4 out of 5 people in Tat shops are looking for thrift not always video games but still doing the same thing as me to a certain extent.
