Has anybody seen my tambourine?

For some reason my local CEX always gets the Xbox one version of the latest game traded in next day after release, So I managed to drum up some trade and pick up Alien Isolation Nostromo Edition, No DLC in the box, But the DLC was only £2.79 so good to have the box.

So how does it hold up? Its pretty intense the sound design really makes you crouch and peek round every corner even tho the game hasn't even hinted the alien is at large yet.

Sat playing it with my girlfriend, After spending the whole first bit of the game shitting my britches thinking the alien was going to get me Sarah told me to pick a fight with one of the androids that ended up doing me in.

So all in all my first impression of Alien Isolation is by far one of the better alien games I have plays, AVP2009 wasn't bad and Colonial Marines was kinda fun playing it co-op, But this one focusing on the tension and atmosfear that they used in the first film make it genuinely scary, A rare thing most modern horror games going the resident evil 4 route with all guns blazing, I would say Its kinda like a mix of Old school survival horror and the 2006 sega game Condemned.

So I see this Projector boxed up in scope, I ask the guy about it and he told me it was tested and I could bring it back if it didn't work, So I took the chance one it £30 been a good price for something like this but still a lot to pay for something second hand.
I get home and check this thing out, It has a whole bunch of connections, AV USB VGA It even has a built in speaker, So I was thinking what is the best thing to test it with, I Slammed the Fat ps3 on and changed the settings to output AV and realise I my need some extra cables.

So I dig out an old PS av cable, and power extension and set it up at the back of the room on the shelf next to the shit DVDs, When it came on the screen size was that big I was like "shit" I needed to take my posters down So I turfed them down and put mortal kombat Trilogy in.

It was a bit tricky trying to get a good picture of the projection, In the flesh it is really something to behold, Its not like its a top model but more then capable for my needs.

To have resident evil 2 fill the wall playing it in the dark its pretty awesome, I connect some speakers to the Phones out on the projector and was in gaming heaven, Crazy thing My girlfriend ask me if I could find one of these, She wanted it to play horror movies in the background for her Halloween party, Then one turns up just weeks before the party, people asking me to find things always comes good.

If you have a games console get one of these things then every time you play it you can feel like your playing for a games master golden joystick, Even if you just want to kick it old school and watch a few movies on it, I kicked back and watched aliens it seems like the go to movie after playing alien isolation all week, This being entry level maybe a 1080p projector will be on the cards as an upgrade down the line.

So to the rest of the thrift, I found Sega classics collection again, I picked this one up because the copy I had was missing the box so I completed the copy I had, The disc was beat up on the one I found but £1 for a replacement book its ok by me.
From Russia with love 007, for £1.99, Pick this up to flesh out my game cube games, don't have much cube stuff and this bond game passed me by when it was release.
Disgaea 1 finally turned up in my local cex had a few things to trade in that I forgot to take last time I traded up, Its complete and in very good con, they had the second one for £22 pretty pricey even for CEX, would be cheaper on ebay so I just picked up the first game.
Back on that's entertainment's website for some easy pick ups, Starting with another copy of Dirge of Cerberus FFVII, I sold the last one but my buddy carl ask if I could get hold of another on so picked this up for him for £1.99

Silent hill 4 the room, Another great price and cool to find this near Halloween its great when horror games turn up at this time of year spares you on to play them £1.99 good game great price.

Rumble roses, not much resale in this item only paid £1.99, Just a bit more off the beaten track as far as ps2 tat goes, There is one of these that is worth a bit resale the Xbox 360 version Rumble roses XX.

That's it for this time, Going to keep my eye on CEX and hope someone trades in evil within soon or shadow of mordor the two games at the top of my list at the minute until next time Thrift On!
