If your gonna play the Game-Boy, you gotta learn to play it right

One day after finding them xbox games last time out thrifting, I try my luck at Wednesday market, I go on about this all the time there is a carboot/market every Sunday and Wednesdays near where I live, The weird thing about it is No ones aloud to sells Games and DVDS? The reason for this is in the mid 00s piracy was rife, So they said no more DVDs/Games, I didn't know this at first but it explains a lot most retro I have found is hidden behind stuff or in a case, So you always have to ask whats what with them and then do some cagey deal, They should change it now there isn't a market for shitty cam versions on a DVD-R with a jet ink cover, In a age of bluray no one wants that kinda thing anymore.
So the first shady deal I did was for all these PS1 games, They where in a pile under a coat behind the rest of the guys stuff, You would have to of smelt them to know they where there, I ask the guy how much and he said £2! There isn't anything mind blowing here but £2 for 9 games? Hells yeah!

Trick'n Snowboarder is worthy of note, If you tap
Triangle, Triangle, X, X, Square, Circle, Square, Circle in the title screen, When you go to free play mode you can play as Leon,Clare and a zombie cop from Resident evil 2 complete with sound effects from resi 2 when you get hurt, I remember having this game without know the cheat and getting pissed off when I heard dogs howling in the back ground, Its the same sample from resident evil just reminding you that this so-so snowboarding game could be marginally better if only you had the cheat, Still glad I finally got to see this and have a go.

Tesco finally released the hudl update Horay! So did it fix all the issues and make your buyers remorse go away? No it didn't, The good news is the screens fix so yeah well done on that one, But as for the Hdmi problem its still there and nothings changes so close but no cigar.

Still at market and I cut a deal with the video game resale guy who is always there £13 all in all for 6 gameboy games, Street fighter X revival, Double dragon Bomberman batman Joe & mac caveman ninja, Some ok stuff just happy to see a bit of retro, But there's only 5 games above in that picture so what was the 6th game I got for this £13 deal?
This is Spud's Adventure and by all accounts is the 3rd rarest gameboy game just behind its squeal Amazing Tater and Trip world, Its sells for around the £90 mark Buy it now, Its like a mix of dizzy and zelda, What a find! just in with all these other lose common carts, There was loads of games in the box I was racking through so the chances of me turning this one over and picking it out where slim, I can't believe I got my hands on this and on a deal for £13 with a bunch of other games.

So with a £90 game to slap on ebay I was more in the mood to spend, And £8 each for these uncommon ps1 games was a fair cop, I have been looking for lost vikings 2 for years £8 is about the ebay price for the ps1 version and pandemonium 2 is about a £15 on ebay so win!
Playing a bit of the new Wolfenstein, First thing this one blows the 2009 one out the water, Impressed with the gamplay its a more painkiller quake feel, better then most of the ps4 games on offer at the moment.

Taking a wonder down newland avenue and someone had set the old blockbusters on fire, No one seemed to be in a real hurry to put it out, To be fair even when it was open and full of stock no one would of rushed to douse the blaze, Still the last time you will see a blockbuster open with people going in and out.

In cash convertors and 99p gets me this GBA double pak, GT advance 3+Moto GP, Two solid racing games for the gameboy advance. .

Revolt for PS1 in the same shop 59p I got this to play again Sucks that it didn't have the book and cover but for something I just want to slam in the ps3 and kick back with its alright.
Beast wars Transformers, This was for resale its about £10 and this one was in great shape complete and tidy con £1.50 from banadros .

Dewy's Adventure, £1.99 in the same charity shop, I see wii games alot but its usually the same wii fit and sports crap, This looked a bit different so I picked it up its on the money £2 is what its worth.
£1.50 for San Andreas on xbox, That's about £12-£15 ebay I sold a few of these for over £20 not so long ago, But I think more people have twigged this one is sort after so there are more on ebay now then there was a few years back.

Cable wins... Flawless connectivity

Getting my cables on this week, I was thinking I could Get the xperia play hooked up to the TV turns out it doesn't have mini HDMI, My Tesco Hudl does, So I was able to get Android on the TV for £15 from asda, A high grade hdmi with all the adapters.

So I can Play some Android games on the TV, Shame stuff like The wiimote app doesn't work with 4.2 jellybean, But you can still use a OTG cable to connect a PS3 controller for use with Android games and lots of different Emulators.

With lots of Games already supporting PS3 pads from the off, a OTG cable is a must for anyone Trying to get the most out of there Android Device, As well as been able to use anything that has a standard USB like this wireless keyboard/Pointer.

Pretty great Result, If it wasn't for one small detail, I did all this with a hudl, This is where I have to take Tesco to task on what seemed like a great device on paper in reality is plagued with problems, There where too major things getting in the way of the perfect android gaming experience, The hudl had a Screen issues one part of the screen will become unresponsive and you have to put it in to sleep mode then come back out again for it to start working, And the HDMI black screen, If you set the hudl's output on 720p or 1080p it will cut out every 10 seconds or so, If you put in down to 576p or 480p the problem goes away but the resolution is a bit pants, All of these issues Tesco have said are Software based and have promised a magic update to fix them that will be released soon, So in full conclusion then Every thing I did with this android tablet is awesome and you should totally get your big TV game pad android set up on the go, Just don't do it with a Hudl what seem to be a great price for a mid spec tablet turn into a minefield of Technical problems that are still been discovered since we all unwrapped them last christmas.

Daxter for £1 on PSP, Still £3 in CEX, I would pick up any PSP game that's not sports or really common for £1 this was complete and boxed they had Mario and Sonic at the Olympics for £1 in the same tat shop but it had High school musical inside the box booo.

Sims 2 and Sims 2 pets for £1 each not really good for cex £1.60/90p trade on them but where in tiny con and my girlfriend like the sims so if she don't want them Ebay fodder.

Tekken 5 for £1 in scope, I have talked about this game countless times, It has the frist 3 tekken games on the disc and still gets you £3 cash and £4 trade in CEX.

Next up in a shop called Cottingham allsorts I found a bunch of original Xbox games all worth having at bargain prices, Dungeons and dragon heroes for £4, I had one of these a few weeks back for 99p, that one sold on ebay for £10 so £4 is still worth it.

Fable 1 for £1, I always buy fable one it will sell around the £5 mark, Lost chapters more £10, When I opened this up it had the disc for lost chapters, This will still sell even tho its a little mixed up, It would suck if it was the other way around

Bards tale for £2 its about £5 worth of game bit of feedback fodder it always sells on ps2 and xbox even with the android release hasn't effected its sales on eBay I find this game alot on ps2 not so much on xbox.
Star wars knights of the old republic 2 sith lords for £2, This sell for round £15 on eBay give or take, So I just paid  £9 for about £30ish pounds worth of games depending on how ebay is feeling that day still for one shop not bad.

Was cutting through a Dingy back Alley way to get to town quicker, I don't know about you but every time I see Shutters with Graffiti all over them in a run down part of Hull a image of streets of rage is immediately conjured in my mind, Why hasn't this series been rebooted yet? Anyways that all the Thrift we have for you this time, Happy hunting.

You're a coward, Sorcerer! Stand and Thrift!

After all the mega-CD games I tried out the last few entries, It got me thinking this must be what it was like to be well off in 1992, I don't remember anyone having a mega cd growing up, Most people had tons of mega drives as a kid, In hindsight this would of been them going to the local pawn shop and back to pay the bills, So I got the top hat and monicale out to see how else the early 90s gamer with plenty of disposable income lived.

This lead me to MAME, Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator, Ever imagined having unlimited money to pull in to these machines, MAME lets you do that and giving you unlimited access to Some of the best side scrolling beat'em ups from this era, And there is a great load of them to choose from, To the left we see aliens by konami, Its a great game Hard as nails but totally worth a play thought says sort of close to the movie with its own spin.
I always remember trying to find Golden Axe 2 on mega drive in the early 90s, Blissfully unaware of the 32bit Arcade squeal The Revenge of Death Adder, This would have blow my mine if I ever saw the Arcade machine, Playable on MAME This is the Finest hour for the Golden Axe franchisee and a must play for any fan of the series, The Excitement I felt when I finally found a lose cart of Golden axe 2, If I had see this back then it would have blown my mind!
If your a fan of games like Double dragon, Streets of rage, Final Fight, 90s arcade games are a gold mine of awesome side scrollers that need to be played I had a great time trying them all out here is a few more honorable mentions,
Cadillacs and Dinosaurs,Alien Vs Predator,Knights of the Round Table,Dungeons & Dragons: Shadows Over Mystara,Captain Commando,The Simpsons,Night Slashers,turtles in time.

On to this Thrifts fines then, I found some JVC earphones still in the pack, Modern day Earphone never seem to go loud enough, These not really vintage but mid 00s with a volume control seem much better, Need a bit more volume for them quite mp3s the always seem to low.

Star was battlefront 2 on xbox about £20 resale this is the version to find, 99p from cash generator.
In the same shop next to starwars was Dungeons and dragons hero's This is a hack and slash game in the same vane as Baldur's gate, Diablo, About £10 resale in there, bought for 99p.
Memento for 99p not for Resale only 80p Trade in this, Pick this up to watch I heard about this of a yale psychology podcast I was listening to, Figured it was worth checking out for 99p to slam in and watch 3 disc SE to boot!

£1.99 for Way of the samurai and £3.99 for Blade Dancer, Over priced for what it is, still worth more on ebay You just have to factor in having to pay the "found it in Cottingham Tax" when your buying stuff from there. Way of the samurai was a fair price tho.
At market and Find King Arthur's world for SNES for £2, Resale about £10, The game is like lemmings, Two guys where checking some games out next to me and ask me what the game was, Then they showed me the boxed pong machine there had found so I should them my find.
Moments Earlier I had paid £10 for a Game boy Color with case and pokemon blue red and yellow, The guy with the pong machine saw the flash of Red Yellow and Blue, and ask me how much I paid, Then Speculated theirs about £30 worth of games there, That's not far off, Most of the Pokemon games go for £12-15, maybe more for yellow, I checked the save on yellow the guy was hardcore he had 4 mews! Total Result and doing wonders for my gameboy hardware collection ever time I buy some gameboy games I end up with a different model Gameboy.

£1.50 For gran turismo PSP, They still sell this in CEX for £3 so a bargain resale is poor on this item used to be a sort after title but with GT 5 and 6 its can of an odd ball of the series without the traditional careers mode, Still a Good GT game.

Rebel assault big box for pc for £1, About £5s worth of game but in a big box they look to cool and retro to pass up for £1 will look good on the shelf in the games room.

Power stone collection for £1.99 in cash genarator still £5 to buy in CEX, Totally worth having for the Two Dreamcast ports of these awesome fighters.

Some PS1 games in a charity shop for 99p Each Honda superbike See steve benway playing this and wanted a go, Playing a game by konami I just can't cancel that Again, And duke nukem 3D because its pretty awesome fair price.

The most 90's thing I did all day, I bought The mortal kombat soundtrack for 99p and then played it on a mega CD, Its pretty epic 17 tracks for awesomeness with bands like Fear factory and KmFdm, Sweeet!!!!

For £1.49 I found This Resident evil 2 Pad, I have mentioned this pad before, When I was talking about the Saturn pad be awesome to play resi evil with, I need got on with this pad for Resi but maybe its worth having a go years latter to see if it makes sense to use now, Ebay its about £12 to buy it now maybe a bit cheaper on the auction, Great collectable Its like the chainsaw controller for cube not the most functional but a nice bit of resident evil merchandise and a right find! I
